When Chris Moneymaker won the World Series of Poker in oh-three, I was inspired. At that time, I’ve been playing the game for some years; mostly in casual games with friends, sometimes online. I was thrilled when I found out that Chris qualified for the WSP just by playing online. I mean, man! That could have been me!
Since then, I’ve started playing online poker more heavily; don’t get me wrong, I’m no chronic gambler or anything. I just enjoy the game; I love the competition! I was excited by the fact that I was playing competitive poker—at least way more competitive than the home games I used to play—with people from around the world.
Anyway, until recently, I’ve been playing the game pretty much casually: I won some hands and I also lost some. Unfortunately, I think I lost more than I won. I think the problem was that I couldn’t get a hang of all that poker odds stuff everyone was talking about. Well, I understand the “whats†and the “whysâ€; I just can’t stand the “howsâ€. Man, I suck at math!
That’s until I found out about the Poker Calculator from a friend. I immediately tried it out because it was FREE. And man, was I blown away! I mean, the thing was doing all the calculations for me! It was such a great help: I was able to focus on my game and eventually, I was able to win more hands consistently. This is one bad-ass app that every online poker player should try.
